FEATURED BOOKMAB JOURNAL
Absolute Batman Vol. 3: Devil's Workshop by Scott Snyder and Nick Dragotta book cover
01

A Gotham volume about aftermath, Ark M, and the man behind the board.

01OPENING NOTE

DC’s page for Devil’s Workshop starts after the fight, not during it.

THE JOURNAL

An editorial introduction to the book, its premise and the story surrounding it.

Batman has already beaten Bane. The volume asks what that victory cost the people beside him.

DC’s description says his friends will never be the same, and that he may not be able to help them even if he crosses worlds and enlists a god. Another resident of Ark M is unleashed on Gotham. The question the page leaves open is the identity of the man behind everything.

What the collection holds

The volume gathers the 2025 Annual, the Ark M special, and issues 15 through 18. DC notes a reunion with artist Jock for one version of a story Alfred has been chasing, and a one-shot on the origins of Ark M. That is a file of aftermaths rather than a single origin retelling.

A different Batman shelf

Absolute Batman is a separate telling, not a continuation of the mainline monthly. This feature does not identify the figure behind the plot. The introduction is the state of play: a won fight, a damaged circle, and a workshop still open.
