Darkness of Dragons is the novel of Qibli, a SandWing dragonet, and the last book in the Jade Mountain Prophecy arc. Published guides place him against the legendary NightWing hybrid Darkstalker, with the peace of Pyrrhia at stake. The graphic novel is that story’s illustrated edition, number ten in the Wings of Fire graphic-novel line.
A world already built
The series is a fantasy of dragon tribes — SandWings, MudWings, SeaWings, and the rest — ruled by queens and divided by old wars. Qibli’s book sits at the end of an arc rather than at the door of the world. A new reader can start here, but the graphic novel assumes some of the pleasure is recognition.
What stays off the page
Adaptation guides describe enchantment, trust, and a plan to warn the academy. Those are mid-book turns. This feature stops at the assignment: Qibli’s volume, the arc’s close, and Mike Holmes’s panels.
